Here's the pre-announcement....guess they decided to cover their butts when they realized their private phone calls last week got out.... Jerks!!

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 9, 1999--Parametric
Technology Corporation (NASDAQ:PMTC.O) today announced that for the
third quarter ended July 3, 1999 it expects revenue to be sequentially
higher than its second quarter revenue of $263.2 million, but
approximately 5% below the Wall Street consensus estimate of $280
million. The company expects earnings per share for the third quarter
to be approximately $0.13 - $0.15 including amortization charges
associated with acquisitions ($0.15 - $0.17 excluding amortization
charges).
The company will announce its third quarter financial results on
July 20, 1999, before the market opens.
Steven C. Walske, chairman and chief executive officer,
commented: "We made excellent progress this quarter; however, our
transition to a more strategic, solutions-oriented selling approach
has taken longer than expected to reach full productivity. The sales
process with larger accounts is more time-consuming and often less
predictable, and some of the major deals we were working on did not
close in Q3. However, these deals, which represent more than $100
million in business opportunity to us, do remain an active part of our
sales pipeline entering Q4."
He added, "We were especially pleased with the performance of
Windchill, our product and process lifecycle management software.
Preliminary information indicates that Windchill-related revenue
doubled in Q3 over the prior quarter to approximately $25 million, and
the company received significant commitments from several companies,
including Lockheed Martin Astronautics, Omron Electronics and
Hutchinson Technology. We're hopeful that this sequential growth will
be repeated in the fourth quarter."
Walske concluded: "Given the performance of Windchill in Q3 and
the level of business activity the company is currently involved with,
we remain very encouraged by our business outlook entering the fourth
quarter."
