<Oh and no way are 20% of PCs and servers going to have RDRAM by end of next year.>

Let's see, Timna by middle of next year, Camino and Carmel replacing the 440BX and 450NX as the mainstream desktop and server chipsets for Pentium III and Xeon, and Intel making darn sure that most of those Camino and Carmel chipsets are sold with DRDRAM (as opposed to SDRAM through an MTH bridge).

Assuming nothing changes in the chipset roapmap over next year, the only two Intel chipsets that support SDRAM will be 810 Whitney for Celeron and 460GX for Merced. Unless Intel makes a major change in plans for 2000, I'd say that when Q4 2000 rolls around, 20% of PC's sold aren't going to have DRDRAM.

Oh yeah, Sony and Nintendo might sell one or two of their next-generation game consoles in 2000.

Future looks pretty bright for Rambus. But hey, you could always invest in the alternatives, like ... uh ...

P.S. - Thanks for being the designated "heel" of the RMBS thread, Kash. And I mean that in the least insulting way. ;-)
