Doc, it will be interesting to see who is right about MO's near term trend. My opinion is that we move up from here. Maybe we stay one or two days at this level, but basically I think we move up.
For the next months we won't hear too bad news and people will have forgotten the verdict in a week. The earning shortfall is minimal and earnings will be still better than last year, where MO's share price had been higher. The focus in the next months will be on the Y2K, where we'll probably see a trend away from techs to consumer titels and stocks with low PE's.

Lin Lee I think we have a buyback program for 8 billion$ in 3 years. There was discussion about increasing pile up the buyback program. Once MO said that they buy back several hundred K of shares each day.

Thread, my car is broken. I don't have the knowledge to fix it, therefore I decided to elect a six headed jury. I chose my wife, my 6 year old son, my brother who is a manager, my parents who retired and a friend of mine who is a architect. Most importantly, these are very honest people and I know they do the best they can to help me to fix the car. Yesterday evening I had my toolbox in front of me and we decided that the jury will vote on every action I have to do. Until now we are in the stage of discussing the sequence of use of the tools. My brother thinks it is a problem to use a screwdriver made in Yugoslavia, because it is ethical incorrect. However we are not sure whether it was made in the good or bad part of Yugoslavia ...
I will keep you updated.
