Archer might be the man. He might be the most insightful man I know. He was wrong, sincere or not. It happens. Hell, I have been wrong in the past.

I have been offered stock for my company. I said no thank you. The stock was restricted for one year. I increased the company's profits 12% in the next year. The stock I was offered was off 80% in the next year. Don't tell me taking stock is insignificant.

Been there, almost done that. Dodged a bullet.

One more thing, let's say I hedged by shorting the company that offered me stock. I would have locked in my buy out price but would have been merged into a dying company. My company is now worth more and if I want to deal I can pick a better suitor.

Don't tell me taking stock is insignificant.
