Here's the problem with this 60 to 90 day business: it only happens in a perfect world. Canadian companies seeking a listing in the US are usually unfamiliar with US rules. Some of them are also active trader. Sometimes the management feels pressure to get listed in the US and to maintain MOMO and as a result they quote the rules, not reality.

The rule: a 20F is effective 60 days after filing.

The other rule: no US exchange (or BB) can allow the stock to be traded until all comments by the SEC have been adressed by the company.

The reality: we do not live in a perfect world.

The conclusion: find out the filing date and add 60 to 90 days if you live in a perfect world and more if you live in the real world.

My advice: take what the Canadian companies seeking a listing in the US say with a grain of salt.

I'm with you Chief... anything to make these suckers rock and roll is good news to me!!!.... at least on this thread... now with all this talk of Pearl not being accurate re. the NAS... damn ... wish I'd held on to that short <ggggg>. I hope everyone keeps talking it up so that it leads to some good buying opps in the morning. I must admit that I was surprised to hear the 60 day reference, given that they have said all along that they will move to NAS in the fall. (By the way, thought your comments earlier re. pricing and getting on the big board were right on).

Given it is 20F in 60 days, I think that earnings expectation will be the greatest short term driver of the share price... and there are certainly lots of rumours there. What I want to know is when is the TSE300 index inclusion going to happen??? That will likely drive a pop as well... even if it should be discounted into the price already, the TSE release will no doubt add a little sizzle.

Guess we'll see what the morning brings.... time to head off or I'll end up with crows feet. <gggg>

"We" are experiencing technical difficulties...

I have been having a terrible time with SI recently. My ISP is Globalserve in TO, who use UUNET as their backbone to the US. One of the UUNET nodes has been like a yo-yo for the past 2 months. Until a week ago, I could only get to SI 2 out of 3 days. Last week, couldn't get through 2 mornings. Today, had to refresh each SI screen 2 or 3 times to get them... it has been a bitch.

Anyhow, if I mysteriously disappear in the middle of a conversation or don't get in to post a trade, that is the reason why. If this thread wasn't such a great place to hang out, I think I would have given up weeks ago. (Yes.. I suppose that is a compliment to everyone here <ggggg>)

I've talked directly to UUNET several times and to Globalserve on several occasions but nothing seems to help. (well it might be a little better right now).. don't ya just love this technology? I thought networks were supposed to re-route if there were problems but all that stuff is over my head... and to be honest, would be just a little more than I really want to know.
