Hi John - thanks for an insightful insider look of contract mfg biz. Yes, I agree with you. Evidently, most of the postmortem analyses seem to agree [re: hiccup]

While this kind of slip up should not be encouraged, it is indeed inevitable from time to time - for any company in this face paced world, for that matter.

One possible exception is the software fix. Depending on the nature of the problem, hypotheticallly, it could pose some major headache to the company - any company - if it is burnt in to the ROM. I am not knowledgeable in either this level of system software or ROM, and I reckon the recent advent of programmables, so long as the core logic is alright, patches can be applied subsequently.

Back to NT, unless there is indeed hidden agenda, I see this annoucement is merely a statement of material impact of ongoing business, and a minor one if it is largely rectified. I certainly do not think NT would lose its competitiveness simply based on this alone

best, Bosco

[p.s. AG Edwards was doing it again - someone[s] should use this opportunity <G>]

John, it is comforting to know that "software problems are cheap and quick to implement"! <G> wj
