JH, Re: Cardboard Boxes with Cows

GTW peaked its head above the down trend line today. Now we get to see if it's serious. DELL challenged its down trend line, but, alas, not yet. I'm still a bit cautious.

Actually, I sold DELL today in one of the "managed" accounts, and they now sit at 98% cash. I will re-enter if it can get through that line in the sand.

At least, thank's to MG, I know what a bauble is. <g>

John:" da bauble index burbles "

>Alas ,and I hold leaps, Oct calls, and stock in duh da da da ...CPQ !

...oh man, lots o' folks here in Houston cryin' in their Stetsons over CPQ, ever since that DEC acquisition; they're hoping for some kind of strategic acquisition/alliance - but the gossip around town is that the executive suite remains in chaos since Herr Pfeiffer got das boot. Lotsa long-shot money looking for that 27.5~30 strike gap, John.

>Re: DRG.X and MRK Going back to the monthlies again...

...monthlies... whew! DRG.X supports at ~348, ~336 and ~318; but the one that intrigues me, John, is ~365 -?

>It does usually get a small bounce in August but that is historically the worst month to be in the market...

...probably the DRG.X traditional role as "defensive" stox (?) They sure don't look "defensive" now {grin} YTD my five stox look like:

MRK +2%
PFE -10%
SGP -6%
AMGN +25%
BGEN +60%

...Man, that plunge in April just blew away my PFE, SGP and AMGN. I don't hold LLY, JNJ or BMY. DRG.X is one sector where I have had a hard time trying to pick out the "winners", John, so I work with this group and the DRG.X chart, and recommend that folks buy some sector fund like FSPHX or VGHCX rather than "just" MRK or PFE or something. DJ rides BGEN LEAPS ;-) Look alive at DRG.X ~365 !

>You might further advance Madame G's DeBeers holdings with the purchase of another anniversary, birthday bauble ya know...(^^)

MadameGonzo's birthday is tomorrow (^o^) Since she has beaten the pants (SOX?) off of all us hot-shot traders by hanging on to DBRSY since Christmas, (she's doubled her money and played in her garden all year, folks), I think she should cash it in and buy herself a bauble - and buy me a burble exhaust system for my little spyder !
