Space stations are fine as they go, but the geeks who build them are not exactly paragons of animal desirability.

Based on empirical evidence, I would say not; when have you seen a builder of space stations featured in a women's magazine? It is also true that most males who get to the space station-building stage have long since forgotten what a chick is. The competitive drive remains, though, and they all want to build a better space station, even if they can't remember why.
