The Dungeons and Dragons obsession is probably transient; when boys that age do something they tend to do it to excess. With me it was ice hockey in the cold months and outdoor sports in the warm. I think my mother would have preferred Dungeons and Dragons - fewer stitches and emergency-room pickups.

When they stop playing the games it will probably be a sign that they are getting seriously interested in the pursuit of girls. At which point you will start having nostalgic feelings about Dungeons and Dragons.
