There has been a noticeable change in the earnings plays 'returns' in the last 6 weeks compared to the last 3 years.. I probably feel the change more than anyone since I've been doing this the longest. I still feel we haven't tapped the core and potential.. I'm working with a new company (the company is new but the trader has been trading successfully for 20 years, and luckily we have similar strategies and have both been 'weaned' on Telescan'..) that will be spending more time on the earnings plays 'buy/sell' calls and the watch list plays (for optimum holding.. I've sold too quickly as well, selling TURF just days before it popped and missing one day of the BGEN gains, just because it was too difficult to buy, track post all in the same 15-20 minute span of the morning.. Now added to that I am doing more puts and some shorts, which makes it a little more difficult. we know its not enough to have long lists of even excellent stock picks without the 'nudge' of a timely buy signal.. If I went back to some watch list 5 or 6 days ago, some of them have gone up 30-50% but they were not 'called' timely so we won't take the credit for them. So John's site will be covering the potential of 'intermediate' earnings plays as they come into play once again (i.e. PAYX looking ripe and maybe ADLAC might be plucked for another pop).. and my other trader friend will be initiating probably a chat room for discussing our stock plays more in depth (not as a substitute to Silicon Investor but rather as a 'plug-in' help for some of the newer traders or those that aren't utilizing our lists to the max). They will also be calling 'buy/sells' and showing you exactly what to look for in the watch lists and generally educating 'hands on' utilizing the picks themselves instead of theoretical articles in textbooks that don't pan out on the trading floor. It will have a 'price tag' as it will take a lot of work, but whatever it will be it will definitely be quite affordable and still hundreds of percent less than comparable buy/sell trading forums. Should all be rolling within a month. With all this help, by next season (October, it should be pretty nearing optimum gains from our picks and less will fall in between the cracks)... Of course as with all potential internet partners, we are not 'affiliated' with the new site but if I go by past experience with this particular trader, the potential is quite staggering, but you have to use your own judgment and perhaps they will offer a trial.. or beginning rate. Our goal is to be a "One stop shop" for everything you need to trade both long and short, and for a price that is very affordable for all.. We are even looking into alligning ourselves with a very good 'news company' for quick news as it happens..( not like bloomberg, but already sifted and sorted for the 'best of the best') We thought of Jag notes, but they have gone IPO (congratulations to them. Jag was my very first subscription service 4 years ago).. and we have to set our sets a little lower.
