DVD in China........................... library.northernlight.com Story Filed: Monday, July 05, 1999 6:59 AM EST CHINA, July 05, AsiaPort -- China DVD Development Strategy Forum was recently held in Panyu, Guangdong. Over 100 manufacturers have attended the meeting. The forum was hosted by China Electronics Newspaper. At present, the domestic DVD market is coming into being while the international DVD market is booming. During the January-April period, the number of DVD player's sold was 3.85 times that of last year and the retailing number of DVD was growing. The market scale this year is expected to reach 800 thousand sets or so. DVD is expected to be main stay of CD players in 2001. As for inner works, now over 8 supplier in American have entered China market.
