Thank you Rocketman and congratulations to G* holders on successful launch. In regards to my poetic curiosity of Globalstar phone performance, I've been called much worse than imbecile and simple-minded. I was thinking of returning to lurk only mode, but reconsidered due to positive reinforcement and agreement from you. Potential customers, shareholders, etc. really need to know how well phone and network perform. Right now, I believe expectations may be a little too high, and could backfire with some customer dissatisfaction, negative press, and worse of all, sinking stock price aka iridium. Since G* is my second largest position, a big concern to me. So far, all the company's reported on performance is terse statements like "the system continues to exceed expectations" or "phone calls meet or exceed industry standards". Now I understand there have been some demonstrations, and I even listened to a recording of a G* call. I admit to being impressed, however I'm certain these demos are under ideal conditions and may or may not reflect performance in real world situations, ie fog, rain, trees, and overpasses. So call my request for performance data idiotic, but it seems reasonable enough to me that we want G* customers (and shareholders too) to be quite knowledgeable of limitations, so expectations can be reasonable, and disappointments minimized. A happy customer is usually a long term customer (the converse is true as Irid has realized). Thanks to you who have provided information in regards to G* performance. I've heard good things from the Yahoo thread, and it seems some of you have had discussions of good performance with those who have detailed knowledge. Thanks for passing info along. One more thing, in case management is listening: A very effective way of providing performance data would be to include an article or two in the G* newsletter covering details of where and when the system may have limitations. Some of the testing statistics would probably make wonderful pie charts and bar charts. For a more independent evaluations (perhaps balancing Bernie's enthusiasm), phones could be provided to the media for a short trial period. What a statement of confidence!! Again congratulations to all; I'm excited to be a part of an exciting technology and high potential company.
