Mary and all... From now on, the only way I'll send money to Wit, or any other broker, is to wire directly from my hometown bank, period. It took me three days and about 30 phone calls to make a simple $2K wire from another brokerage over to Wit, and I have no intention of going through that again. At my bank, I send a fax and I know it's done. If there should happen to be a problem, and there never has been, I'll just pick up the phone and they'll do all the work of tracking down my money.

So, I know where you're coming from. You might want to consider doing the same. Wire the money from your bank, write one of your E*Trade checks, and deposit it in your bank.
