This post of yours is what made me mention it. He would have answered, answers, I should say, the questions as you do. Which is, btw, as I do, also. I should mention that the title of the book, The Moral Animal, is characterized by Wright as "not without irony." I mention it because I think it sounds kind of stuffy, or intoning. It isn't, though.

I know a couple of people in book groups who say it precipitated the best discussions of any book they'd read. I know one woman who says it saved her marriage.(That is, it made her not take certain things personally, lol.)
