Thanks for the post, and the abstract.

Although I have not yet seen the article, note the first sentence in the abstract:

The mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway is thought to be essential in cellular growth and differentiation.

Given this, I would anticipate significant side effects/toxicity. However, these investigators report that there were none. Intriguing, but, given the fundamental importance of this pathway, I am skeptical that results in humans would be similarly free of side effects/toxicity. But, of course, that remains to be seen one way or another.....

Another development which bears watching, but (in IMHO) watching only at this point....
