This sounds to me like PIXAR might be unleashing new video technology to rival Quick Time. Am I just reading to much into this. I think this will be presented at the shareholders meeting at the end of the month.

More likely Pixar has developed its own high-quality codec, which could be used by Quicktime. However, this seems like misplaced effort. Sorenson 2 is really good, and it is part of QT4.

Quicktime is not a movie format, it is a generic media/time file format that can be used with any type of media/compression, etc.

Who's going to the meeting?
