When you're selling to a target audience who won't dare put a screwdriver onto their PC's, the ability to upgrade the memory becomes unnecessary. More often than not, that target audience is more concerned about price and tootie-frootie colors (iMac anyone) than about expandability.

Chances are, Timna with DRDRAM chips soldered directly onto the motherboard will enable smaller form-factor PC's. One example would be a PC that is no bigger than a personal pan pizza box.
