I disagree with you. I think it did destroy the psyches of the killers. It certainly damaged the collective German psyche- not everyone, but many.

The Germans were only "efficient" in the concentration camps. When they did not have the time to deport their victims to a camp, they could be as sloppy as the Serbs. Take Babi Yar, for example.
