To All, Superb High Tech Strategist this month. 1. Fred describes the effect on the stock market of Greenspan's recklessness with a great phrase, "the rising tide keeps even sinking ships afloat." <g>

2. He quotes a London School of Economics survey where 650 CEOS of blue chip cos. discuss IT's contribution to the bottom line. 25% think it makes a large contribution. 75% are right. <g>

3. Half of all Americans would fall behind on their bill payments if they were unemployed for even 3 months. Uh, what about the "they really are saving and it doesn't show up in the numbers" crapola?

4. He sees a big drop in sequential sales for Intel, with a million fewer parts and ASP off about 4%. The internet investments and the year over year comparisons will cover the obvious trend. The $800 million or so plunge in revenues per quarter since December will be the largest in Intel history.

5. He expects Micron to lose $100 million this quarter. I think he is being way too kind.

6. Weakness in business PC demand in Western Europe and the USA.

7. If you have to own a tech stock, he recommends Cabletron. I haven't given them the hairy eyeball in a couple of years, but they were one of my most profitable longs and one of my most profitable put stocks earlier in the decade.

Worth the small fee.
