Bought some LQID today near the low of trading. . .small amount, as recent IPOs are too volatile. . .maybe flip for a small gain. . . unless it breaks out.

Reason. . . CNBC has only been saying that Liquid Audio was a competitor to musicmaker.com. That is like saying that Sony is a competitor of Diamond Multimedia.

Their main business is developing an "encoded" direct delivery system that the record companies are embracing. . . in response to MP3 [only FAR better quality]. . . . in fact, there is even talk of a handheld device for Liquid Audio encoded music, similar to Rio.

And Liquid Video is said to be favorable competition to Real Networks. . . by the movie and television industry because the video is also encoded with copyright information. . . so that nobody is downloading movies for free, but are paying appropriate royalties.

Very important stuff here, guys. . . THAT is why Intel has an 18 percent stake in Liquid Audio/Video . . .and Paul Allen's company has a 17 percent stake. . . . HELLO? I see this one as bigger than Real Networks. . . .

Finally. . . CNBC is getting it right now at 12:08pm. . .
