This is what WLA's chairman had to say. -- ----------------------------------------- 07/15 8:40P (WJ) WSJ(7/16): Warner-Lambert Looks Beyond Its Lipitor Drug company's experimental psychiatric drug Pregabalin, as well as to form collaborations and deals with other companies. (snip) He said the company is not currently planning another deal the size of its recent acquisition of Agouron Pharmaceuticals, but it is working on a variety of smaller deals and collaborations. "We may be able to announce something positive in the next few weeks," he said. "We have a propensity to do quite a few things because we have a tremendous cash flow coming in." Mr. de Vink played down the possibility of a large merger with another drug company. "With the present product portfolio, there is no absolute necessity" to merge with another large company, he said. But he said that he can't absolutely rule out a deal in the long-term future. "My upbringing is never say never. This is a dynamic environment," he said. (snip)
