It seems to me that the fellow you describe is not so different from some of the people we had debating us a week or two ago, only more ignorant and less polished. If there ever were a religious war in this country, guys like him would be cannon fodder, but they'd be easy to motivate.

Being a radio-masochist, and also wanting to know what slouches toward Bethlehem, I often put on one of those talk shows when I'm in the car, and that is not an unfamiliar position to me. I have often heard Christians take the position that atheists should have no rights in this country.
