The best way to move is NOT by transferring --- instead, assuming you have checkwriting priviledges on your account, simply write a check to your new brokerage account after each sale in your present account. Regretfully, if you can't sell something because of potential tax implications, you will have no choice but to leave those shares where they are or transfer the shares which will take considerably longer. Dale I was the first person to start a thread about how Etrade sucks. Called "Etrade..savings???" It was back when SI just started. One of the big wigs at Esucks was on the thread all the time telling us how they were working all the problems out, and that it was all going to get better... yea right!-g- I have other accounts with accutrade and fidelity that I can stay active with, this really is the end for me with these jokers. I am a loyal guy who really gives a person (or company) a chance. Chance given. NO IMPROVEMENT!!! Last week while I had a limit order sell in, there was a sale ABOVE my limit. I called Estupid and was told all kinds of weird things... I finally had to almost yell at the idiot on the other end... and still got no explaination as to how there could be a sale above my limit and not trigger my limit... oh yea the best one was.. "that was a buy, not a sale"... if it was bought, there was a sale.-g- No resolution .. stock moved higher.. I sold it.. made money.-g- Good luck with these jokers!! Mark
