Skeeter....I agree, somewhat, about Joe six pack. But he is not the key to success of Rambus, or Dell, or Compaq. Business customers in this strong economic environment are going to keep buying PCs and workstations to run on their networks. Let Joe buy his 600$ PC, --as long as Boeing buys its 5,000 Dell workstations.

this is a little quote i read on marketwatch today...

"" "Malone said the demo suggested consumers preferred the highest possible quality when it came to downloading video images. "They'll pay for and take whatever the best that they can get is. And I think that's always been sort of the rule," he said. ""

john malone of course is from liberty media.

michael dell has made an awesome success out of that same philosophy.

arguing that americans want to buy their pc's at k-mart prices just doesn't hack it. we have become a much more quality conscious consumer. everyone i know buys too much computer deliberately with aforethought. they get it for the kids or to beat obsolescence at the back end. or they get it because they want cutting edge tech for a variety of reasons. i plan to give my ibm 450 to my grandsons. and buy a rambus enabled pc as soon as i can. why? just so i can post how cool it is. fast too!
