Duke Energy to Build $1.3 Bln Alabama-to-Florida Natural Gas Pipeline

It's scheduled to begin operating in 2003, and
will be able to carry about 1 billion cubic feet of gas a day,
Duke said.

Florida is one of the fastest-growing U.S. energy markets.
FPL Group Inc., owner of the state's largest electric utility,
said in April that it plans to expand its generating capacity by
20 percent over the next decade.
