CSFB analyst last week, that put out BUY, said this quarter was the bottoming quarter. If enough folks believe this, then the stock should see lots of buying since it is so incredibly cheap (if the sales are really there, of course). I sure hope it is true. Wouldn't it be wonderful to see a quarter where they beat expectations?

My guess is that Friday's action was short covering. Who else would buy on that news? The prolonged beating that PMTC's taken along with the earnings and revenue disappointments could indeed signal a bottom. Might be a protracted bottom, but a bottom none-the-less. Maybe that's what the shorts are thinking. The downside from here is only pennies, while the upside is dollars. Not a good risk/reward argument for staying short in PMTC right now.
