You may have to wait awhile. There is a report from Bloomberg news that T cable system has refused new subscribers because they are having severe problems in the SF area.

Scott

I'm not an AOL subscriber, but I too took up @Home's offer yesterday. I am having to wait 2 weeks for my installation. I live in Salem, OR, so our demand is probably much less than the bay area. Hope it works out for you!

Regards~

TP

p.s. - the offer was too good to refuse!

"Well, I just made the switch! Because I'm a subscriber to AOL, I called @Home and took them up on their offer. The total cost to make the switch was "$0.00" (free cable modem installation, they pay my monthly AOL bill until '00, etc)..I can live with that!

Hi Scott- Glad to read you signed up! You inspired me to call TCI@Home. I had begun an order on Wednesday, but they were having a database problem. I phone them a few moments ago and have my install scheduled for July 14th. The Rep. was nice, and I basically got the same offer as you. I decided to drop AOL though. I can live without their features. I want SPEED!

My computer is not near cable though. Cable is in the same room but on the opposite wall. All my computer hardware takes up too much space to be against that wall. I think I will run a separate cable line myself. Anything to speed up the install and get the cable guys to another home!:0)
