I believe that your spiritual connection with God will help you understand the things you read. It is not an excuse to get out of reading. I would be more inclined to compare the spiritual connection as a "Helpful Interpreter" or a teacher who helps explain things in a way that you can understand. Which, in my mind has nothing to do with "Instinct". This is what I believe. And I don't presume to know what anyone else's beliefs are. Thank you for your reply.<

I'm sorry, Kahn, I didn't mean to imply that 'instinct' was your word. I chose the word and put it in quotes for precisely the meaning you object to it (I think): that a believer sometimes claims to have a 'feel' (again, my word, my quotes) for what a text means. I'm sorry if I gave offense.
