Could the insiders who exercised their options be expecting the stock price to rise shortly?

On a related topic, how many convertible preferred shares are still out there? I think I read those shares were convertible at about $4. When they're converted, they will dilute the share price. I wonder if the convertibles are keeping AXC's price down in the 4s.
