Scumbria- <CB is going to have some explaining to do!>

How do you figure? Although I don't know the Intel numbers for Q2, intel did not feel it necessary to pre-announce, which usually means the Q should come close to Intel's guidance.

Oh yeah, you don't do the accounting thing, as all of your arguments are qualitative.

SCUMbria - Re: "When one of the most profitable companies in the world falls off the performance curve behind a nearly lifeless competitor, I call that self-destruction. "

Last I looked, Intel was shipping tons of 550 MHz Pentium IIIs and AMD had only a few 475 MHz Kmart 62's for sale - plus a few 600 MHz LaughALON foils.

Re: " Intel has intentionally lowered their own ASPs to magnify the effects of their failure. CB is going to have some explaining to do!"

Why don't we compare next Tuesday's Intel Confeernce Call with next Wednesday's AMD funeral call - OK ?

It seems that rushing out there with poor yields doesn't fit into many people's idea of beating the performance curve, as reflected in the AMD stock price today.

Being there first doesn't matter so much as being there first with good yields.
