Do you have any facts to support your argument that

better solution than Sun (just a little bit more expensive).

"... For instance, IBM, HWP and CPQ can certainly provide a
better solution than Sun (just a little bit more expensive)."

Can you back this silly statement up? Sun is near ubiquitous in high transaction Web environments so even if Sun were involved in the Etrade failure its more a sign that leading edge, high transaction environments are built on Sun. The only valid part of your statement that makes sense is that alternatives usually are more expensive and that perhaps a mainframe can give better availability in return for much higher costs, no software and what software there is costs a fortune, and no trained personnel.

If its so obvious that even you know that IBM, HP and CPQ provide better solutions how come there are so few of these above mentioned vendors providing Internet infrastructures (try www.netcraft.com and ping a couple high profile sites)?

However, it has not yet fully met
the fault tolerance standard to run mission critical tasks for
million dollar business. If your business could only lose Kilo's
in an one hour crash, then SUN's equipment should be good enough
for you.

It is obvious you have NOT done your homework. No need to continue this discussion. When you learn a little more about this fine company, come on back and we can discuss whatever topic you choose.

All the best,
Michael
