Scumbria - <I don't think that K7 had a big impact on Q2. Do you?>

If it did, it wasn't enough.

Scumbria - K6-475 drops 20%. Where's the K63-500?

Everyone enjoy the long 4th of July weekend? Our staff worked for most of it but we did manage to get out into the sunlight a little bit. (Alex, next time use the SPF 5000 lotion on that English skin ok?)

Prices dropped a little more than usual this week as AMD created their own fireworks for the weekend by cutting their higher end CPUs substantially. The K6-2 475 received a price cut close to 20%, which is much larger than usual for CPU price cuts.

Intel was relatively dormant this past week, obviously enjoying their current margin levels as only one of their CPUs dropped by more than $6, that being the $12 drop incurred by the P3-550 CPU.

No sighting on the K6-3 500 CPU still, this is getting frustrating. Sometimes being a globally read online publication works against the pursuit of helpful information as we were told almost eight weeks ago by several valid sources that the K6-3 500 CPU was nearing its ship date.

Unfortunately yield issues as well as cost issues have held up the deployment of what will be AMD's fastest CPU until the Athlon 500 arrives, yet we remain hopeful that it will appear in retail channels by the middle of July.
