I am sure whoever bought it loved it. Although I wonder whether the edition she was offering was actually printed in 1644. I've got some books from the 18th century, but books printed in the 17th century are rarities. Well, maybe in New York.

Steven - If you still wish you had bought that book, there is a chance you might find it on one these sites:

bibliofind.com
abebooks.com
alibris.com

Your book may not be listed, its a little arcane. Most dealers have many more volumes on hand than what is listed. By perusing the lists you can zero in on a few dealers that are antiquarian specialists and contact them and I'm sure eventually you will find your book. There is a Mr. Hurley from New Hampshire who might be a good place to start. Good luck! Charles
