IOIH, this notion that the "bigbanks" can muscle their way to the top once they get their sites going is wrong. When I was hunting for a car-loan, I got the best rate (far and above) from a tiny community bank. They also offer higher interst rates on their checking accounts than the larger Boston banks. I'm no banker, but it seems to me that there's more to attracting customers than higher rates and lower fees, otherwise my community bank will be the next Citicorp.

Back in May, I had a series of discussions w/ a top marketing guy of one of the largest banks in the country, and he was very straight-forward with me when we talked about internet banking (we were not meeting on the subject of internet banking at all either.)

Rather than repeating what he said about USAB (he knew of them), I'll find the post that I made on the USAB thread after I met him. I think it's pertinent here.
