What's the problem? Sort of like the bank in Jimmy Stewart's "wonderful Life", these guys are too nice. They don't make hard decisions, and are too slow to change. If you are looking at banks that share this deplorable trait and are likely targets of take overs with modest premiums, you might want to look at UMB [symbol UMBF]. Partly because of extremely conservative financial policies and partly due to increased competition, they have seriously underperformed for the last couple of years and are ripe for a takeover.
