"Ed said the target audience is ADVERTISERS! He mentioned how banner internet ads don't work and how video advertising is going to be much more compelling. He said advertisers were going to be advertising through videos on the web in a big way and that Ampex wanted to get "ahead of the curve" of those advertisers rushing to the web."

I came to this conclusion last night, wish I had posted my thoughts.

AXC = The internet video commercial king and leader. How do you say, Infomercial!!! Everyone has been concerned about content. One thing all sites contain, commercials! I hope they are better at creating adds than they have been at marketing Ampex... Hahahaha

Re: video sales quickly outpacing storage

With storage sales at $16 million/quarter, if it remains flat and video grows quickly to the same, that implies annual sales of $128 million, which would make the PSR 2. Thus this stock has a lot more upside potential than downside risk at this point.

Re: the focus on advertising

That explains why they hired Marione. It never made sense to me that he was hired for "branding" Ampex. That kind of work can easily be handled by an outside agency. But if Ampex is the advertising medium, it seems critical to have on board a guy with major agency and advertiser contacts. Marione is there to figure out how the medium can be used by advertisers, to select and solicit the right advertisers, and to promote the concept.

Having an established agency guy in this role gives Ampex immediate credibility in this role with big time advertisers. I see Ampex thinking big, and trying to line up National accounts. If this works, and I think it will, I agree that advertising revenues could quickly pass storage revenue. I would also tell you that they should be profitable doing this, and that the PSR will be higher than 2.
