Scumbria,

<K7 doesn't really exist.>

Even more relevant, profits don't exist. Yet another disastrous quarter with staggering losses about to be announced by AMD. When oh when will Jerry's worshipers ever learn. Contrast this to INTC which is about to announce a record Q2 with obscene profits.

Q3 will also be more red ink for AMD. Look for them to take a "one time" charge to write-off inventory which has piled up thanks to Celeron.

Did you notice that Moody's lowered AMD's rating.....gee what a surprise....a company which hasn't been profitable for years...with widening losses.....and no signs of improving financials....I wonder what Moody's is thinking lowering their rating <ggg>....perhaps Moody's needs to visit the land of the hopelessly naive (better known as the SI AMD thread) so they can understand AMD's true potential.

BTW, what happened to June....I distinctly remember you telling me repeatedly how June was going to be the end of the world for INTC investors and the road to heaven for the AMD faithful.

Keep telling yourself that K7 is the salvation....just like K5 and K6. The hype and hope with each K family has been bigger and bigger....and so have AMD's losses. Oh yeah, I know....this time is going to be different.... Jerry and Scumbria said so.

FF

S: RE: K-7 not existing

From a long-term Intc holder( never sold a share since Jan., 1996)and SI reader, your posts lately border on the absurd. When, dear sir, will AMD ramp up and produce in sufficient quantity their next miracle chip that WILL MAKE MONEY? Moody's downgrade now results in greater borrowing costs to keep the poor engineers on AMD's payroll, since there is no money to PAY them otherwise. What are the LENDERS thinking NOW?
Meanwhile, Intc keeps producing and delivering product at all levels and PROFITS> That's why some of us invest our hard-earned money, to increase our WEALTH.
If all you hope for is for the FTC or DOJ to do AMD's bidding, the political landscape has probably doomed that strategy, (finally).
While you may a be tech wiz, your investment (or stk option deal?) strategy leaves much to be desired. Good luck.
Regards, Royco

P.S. Happy with the 3 ELs-IntEL, NortEL, NextEL

Re: "Not to worry. K7 doesn't really exist."

Maybe, maybe not, at some point it may be a viable product but all we have is a phoney announcement with no customers, no product, no real benchmarks and no systems. Some announcement. Just a new set of foils. Some things definitely exist though. A loooooong history of staggering losses growing by the quarter, mounting debt, share price erosion, and most of all.... a small group of delusional followers who will believe ANYTHING Jerry tells them. In my youth people like you would run off with the latest Guru who would fill their heads with meaningless nonsense, all the while boinking the young girls (or boys) while the devotees faithfully chanted their prayers. With AMD's financial disasters, it won't be long before you AMDevotees shave your heads, dawn saffron robes and begin asking for spare change at the airports.
