I think as I have said before, one of the keys is the partners, granted GE's investment is chump change, and SRE's is also, but DTE's and MMTY's investment is NOT. GE will not make a partnership like this unless they believe in the future of PP's FCs. You should remember that MKTY was doing research in FC's for many years before the formation of Plug Power.
Conference is at:http://www.cbinet.com/ and look for the energy
conference's.
And if you let me know who is going from your friends I will attempt to make contact.
MKTY is now part of the Russell 2000 a very big step from the BB last year. !!!!

Sid,

I agree that the safe strategy would be to own both companies. I have read most of your post's on this thread and on the ERC thread and find them informative. I am a layman without much scientific background so I may be missing something in your arguments for favoring ERC over MKTY.

The gist of what you seem to be saying is that ERC's superior fc technology will ultimately triumph. However, it appears to me that MKTY is the leader in this race because of its alliances and abilities to tap into thier resources. Additionally, it appears MKTY has the lead in the American market thru its utility partners prepared to market the fc units to their customers. Assuming, the currently proposed residential tests by plugpower go well, doesn't it appear to you that MKTY is in a position to take and hold onto the lead? Is it your view that ERC's technology is so superior that it will completely knock out of the Box MKTY once it is able to bring its fc to market(and don't they have alot more financing hoops to jump thru)? I guess what I am saying is that your perspective seems to be oriented totally to the technical aspects of this industry-----and I guess what I am saying is that aspect is not all that it takes.

While I can appreciate the better mousetrap argmument, wouldn't you want to hold some MKTY too? This reminds a little bit of the Apple vs. Microsoft argument.

REgards,

Bill
