The books sound like a good idea. I enjoyed gruop sports, loved soccer and enjoyed playing softball (and bowling) but the only solitary thing I enjoy is lifting weights. If I walk I want to be getting somewhere or seeing something. Are there nice yards there that you could consider that you are going for a "stroll" while listening to your book?

Gym, tread mill and weights. It is called Apex. 1200 to 1400 calories. Very balanced (I think). Lot's of water. It's not a gimmick. They really teach you how you process foods. What foods do what to you. Need to have a protein every time you have a carb. Carbs make you want to eat more. You have to write down everything you eat. I figure 300 calories breakfast, 400 lunch, 500 dinner. Trust me I am skipping wine. It's not all that filling. I had a trainer who put me through Apex a couple of years ago and I lost sizes and a had much more energy.
My trainer was really cool. He was an ex-marine, alcoholic, drug addict. He was now a body builder on the body building circuit (senior division). No possible excuse for not following the program worked with him. I was so afraid of him (in the nicest way) that I got great results!!
