G'day all - Ramsey, I tend to disagree with your comparison between Soros and Greenspan. I do not know why he [Soros] was asked to testify; however, he has had his shares of failures as well as successes. I have cited his success in the attack of the Pound, but his Quantum Fund has also had the amount of high profile failures like the Eurobonds and the probably the HK's refusal to de-peg from the USD.

And if you were like me silly enough to hang on to SYBS [since sold] simply b/c he took a long position in it, you would be crying to the poor house also <SG>!

Finally, I think you and I can agree to disagree [or so I hope] I do not see he is particularly immoral in shorting the markets, if the respective markets exhibit systemic problems like those of Thailand and Indonesia a few years ago. One could even argue that his failure to roll HK over is b/c HK did not have as much of a systemic problem - and thus the free market works <SG>. Or, to be a ethical relativist, there are a lot more immoral characters in this world, but we don't think of them immoral b/c we don't think of them at all <Sigh!>

Your devil's advocate, Bosco
