Absurdity? This whole back and forth about which chip is faster IS the theater of the absurd. It's childish and boring. School yard big boys with toys stuff. All the chips are fast. The K series is fast. The P series is fast. The C series is fast. The G2 series is fast. But who cares? The bottom line is "business" and return on investment regardless of chip size, color, shape or speed. Period. Right now Intel is the bulldog with the collar on. Makes money and turns a profit for it's stockholders. AMD doesn't. Maybe that will change. Maybe not. Until then, you boys can measure the sizes of your tools all you want but your rhetoric isn't impressing this end of the modem.

Re: "K7 is here"

A very nice condensed description of the difference between you and most other people. We figure it has to be HERE before you can say it's here. You have a different requirement. By your standards it was here the day they flipped the first foil.

No argument on HUGE AMD losses. They are here there and everywhere.

<I use the absurd to contrast the absurd K7 FUD being spread by Intel supporters. K7 is here, and it is faster than any Intel processors.>

So would the phrase "K7 is here" be a fact, or just more of the "absurd"?

SCUMbria - Re: ". In a few weeks, AMD will own that space- for the indefinite future."

In a few weeks - as in the end of July ?

It didn't happen in June, so why should we - or even yourself - believe "in a few weeks" ?

In a few weeks, you expect AMD to instantaneously produce, outsell and deliver many many millions of athLATEs to displace Intel.

You are not absurd, SCUMbria, you are nuts.
