I don't understand how my ignoring an SI member's posts is an infringement in any way of his/her freedom of speech. I'm as big a free speech supporter as anyone, but your connection between my proposal to enhance my ability to ignore, with the free speech rights of posters is illogical.

In no way does my ignoring a post affect the free speech rights of the poster because his message is still there for all to see, if they choose to see it. In my proposal they would specifically have to take action to ignore it. By default, every message would be seen. Other than diminishing the audience of people who don't want their audience diminished, I see only benefits.

If free speech is your only argument, and I think it's a very weak one indeed, I'll take that bet.
