Confluence,

OFF TOPIC

"""The securities commissions only require disclosure of material facts, and "material" means many things to companies of differing sizes and attitudes......With de Beers as operator, it is unsurprising to see such a lack of information......""""

For a long term, and intelligent market player like yourself, you no doubt are aware that the 5034 pipe had a 100 tonne sample taken in 1996....in the summer of 1996, MPV reported a grade of 2.10 carats per tonne. In December of 1996, MPV reported that two Antwerp diamontaires had evaluated the diamonds. MPV DID NOT REPORT THE EVALUATIONS AT THAT TIME....perhaps MPV and the securities commission and exchanges thought that the valuations were not material?:-). It was DeBeers who reported a grade of 1.5 carats per tonne FOR DIAMONDS IN EXCESS OF COMMERCIAL CUT-OFF(quite a diference from the 2.10 carats per tonne reported by MPV!!), and the valuations at $US55.00 per carat and ALMOST A YEAR LATER....why didn't MPV report the valuations in a timely fashion, or are they not material?....perhaps you and or paul centis would care to explain all this, or maybe you could tell us all just what kind of bullchit "pump and dump" MPV has been trying to pull here? I see no diference between MPV's style of reporting then and now.....
good luck

Confluence,

""Nice to see an "investor" like yourself looking for a short term trade! """"

With juniors that IMO, have demonstrated they have the goods, like Winspear for example, I buy and hold....with other junior resource stocks, if the opportunity is presented, and if they are not too tightly held, I always sell first and then buy...why?....because you can always buy, but you can't always sell:-))
regards,
teevee

Good post thanks!

All that being said and I have to agree with just about all of it, I can't help wondering why the other half of that group, namely Anglo American is playing such a laid back role in the P.O.Gold situation. One almost gets the feeling that they are trying to teach the SAf black government a lesson in national economics and management. If gold mines keep closing because of prices how much unemployment can Africa stand before somebody lights the fuse????

Sorry to be OFF Topic or on the wrong thread.
