Ed what do you think will break us out of the $125-$130 range? Will it be a broadband announcement(like the upcoming DSL deals with the baby bells)? Or will it take an actual deal with AT&T/Cable to get AOL back to new highs?

It's hard to make substantive, relevant, posts on the same stock day after day. Many of us have been here since before AOL went on the S&P, when a lot of analysis was being done by a lot of smart and informed people on the board, and that is still there in the historical archives. Most of it is still relevant, as well. But every board goes through this, where the old timers have pretty much said and read everything of substance, and save for occassional comments on new stories, we hate to repeat it all. It would be nice if SI had a topical index, and we could just provide the links, but it does not. So newbies and tired oldies will have to either put up with the off-topic stuff or go to a different service.

So, having said that, what does everyone think about the AOL 5.0 due to come out later this year? I wonder if it will have easy-to-install broadband capabilities for those lucky enough to have DSL? And perhaps some hooks into future satellite broadband as well? My feeling is that this is what AOL needs to remain current and keep from losing current users, but by itself is not likely to bring in new users. I think new users might be more interested in the wireless devices, such as the Palm Pilot and the new web-capable phones. If AOL can establish itself in this market, it might get new subs that want an easy to handle interface into the internet.
