I'm not sure either - especially the dumb rants which had nothing to do with IDTC itself. ...

The only two stock threads I got tied up such way was notorious DBCC (main believer: zpest), and also the still unresolved NAVR.
In the case of NAVR some of the main believers later apologized or agreed, since there is still no natradio ipo (at least not as early as expected) and the stock trades at roughly 1/2 of the former price bowed by insider sales and the last remaining shares sold by the "selling sharesholders".

No reason for passion? No pun intended - but when I get aware of persons believing in Islamic Religion (or die-hard catholics) - or Neo-Nazis at most, then I can understand what passion is about, and how hopeless it is to argue with true believers.

IDTC is an IPO backdoor of DBCC, or DLIA makings (with likewise weak fundamentals) which will ultimately trade significantly below recent market prices. Period.

Can't stay away though, can you?

There are many people who have been waiting for the
NTOP IPO for quite a while. It is just around the corner now,
and the longs can taste it. They know this is a very speculative play
and can go either way.In the next few weeks, they will know if
all the DD is going to start paying off. This is what makes a horse race. Are they nervous?...certainly.Excited?...sure.
But Miss Bear, please stop with the likeness to a disease or psychotic personality.
As a matter of fact,a percentage of regular IDT holders sold the
moment they found out there were no shares from the IPO.
Also, Mr. Greenburg felt our wrath after publishing another innuendo laced article lacking facts. He has since folded like a cheap camera.Ask him today and he would probably say that there is something wrong with them.Etiologically speaking, of course.
Above all, it's fun.

Atlantic Seaboard,

You are talking about my adopted family here so I though I would stick in my two cents. You will find the same type of investors on mspg or elnk threads. These people are very computer adapt and can find things and do due diligence in a way that most can't.

For instance. Here is a parent directory that was recently posted. By looking at this directory you can clearly see some upcoming deals. One of which is compaq computer:

net2phone.com

As a result of the incredible abilities of the folks who routinely follow this stock. They usually know well in advance what is going to happen with IDT and or net2phone. In fact, I can't think of a major partnership or deal that was not announced in advance on the yahoo board. Those people never quit. They are quite passionate in their beliefs and in addition. Due to their computer savvy. They are in the unique position of knowing what will work and what won't. What will be hot and what won't? These people work for other companies such as cisco, compaq, ibm, aol, nortell and I could go on and on. Yes, they believe in IDT. Why? Because they know the industry and can predict the future.

It is clear that AOL, Softbank, GE and NBC all agree with that assessment. Not to mention 8 out of the top 10 portals etc.

So, in summary. In the case of idtc or elnk or mspg investors. Their cultish appearance is best viewed as a vision of the future. Rather than a contrarian indicator.

Take care all.
