Kurt,

Excellent posts. Thanks for sharing your findings. IMO the fact that Brocade's more software centric and Ancor's more hardware centric may have allowed Brocade to come out with private loop support first. However, Brocade would have to give up some performance degradation because of it. Going forward, more standard based application and performance will be the key to success. Ancor will be well positioned.

Thanks so much for this wonderful post! I have gained so much insight from your helpful comments. It strikes me as interesting that Brocade's strong-hand public relations and the posts from obviously pro-Brocade employees/shareholders??? were possibly driven by the idea that steam could be gathered early, and this could be coupled with ancr's financing woes (and its public display of them by virtue of ancr being publically traded) to allow Brocade to become THE prototype--they could possibly have "buried" (to use Kruschev's phrase) ancr. All this is just musing on my part, but it could explain their strong urge to bash ancr. We have been fortunate to have lived to fight again another day. Again, thanks so very, very much. Because of your efforts to inform all of us, I understand the distinctions between ancr and brcd so much better than I ever have before. Thank you.
