Greetings George.

Subscribed again last week. The women of Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Cozumel say "hi".

As Frederick Smart on the Novell thread says,

There is a massive arbitrage underway right now which is fueled by individuals who are taking control of new forms of communication that give them information when they need it, where they need it and on a completely customized basis: e-mail, unified messaging, chat, FREE faxing, follow-me numbers, online conferences, ICQ, talking e-mail, IP radio, MP3, Internet enabled digital wireless handhelds, PDAs, Java, XML, PERL, yada, yada, etc.

As ISP's consolidate they need ROBUST, SCALEABLE, messaging software. Software.com is a fairly pure play on internet infrastructure.

One to watch: SWCM

From the SI thread ...

Hoovers Profile:

"You've got mail! Software.com's scalable InterMail messaging software products enable providers of Internet services to offer messaging services including Web-based e-mail, e-mail for desktop PCs, outsourced business messaging services, and Web-based voice mail and fax services. Software.com also offers such services as systems planning, design and migration; training; operations management; and support. Its customers, which range from telecommunications carriers to Internet access providers and Web portals, include @Home, Ameritech, AT&T, Excite, and PSINet. AT&T Ventures, Hewlett-Packard, and Cisco Systems own minority stakes in the company. "

It appears that the platform independent future is here. Everyone that uses Silicon Investor is using Linux. The free PC predicted on the Linux thread is reality.

What's next?

Keep up the good work. Best of luck.

Mr. Gilder,

I have been an investor in MCOM for quite some time. I thought a good value for the stock was in the low 20's but have been proved wrong by the "market". While there were things such as a short squeeze going on and a relativly small float, are there either fundamental or technological reasons that I have over looked that will keep this stock priced at its recent lofty levels. I would be interested in your opinion.

Thanks in advance.
