so, the strategy for a stock like BRCM is to have almost every position open simultaneously; long or short, and ride the waves.

Peter Lynch was probably right in that a buy and hold strategy will work for most people and most companies, however, broadcom is an exception and will reward the fleet-footed speculator, as well as the long-term buyer.
