Good info, John, thanks. The addresses are now pasted into my contacts files. But, I have to admit that when I get cold calls, I sort of feel that any rudeness or orneryness I come up with is OK.

I never thought about it before, but maybe these cold callers are performing a societal benefit; perhaps if I weren't nasty to them, I'd be nasty to someone I know. :-)

Most times I find a dead space when I answer and before the
computer kicks it over to a live operator. If I don't get an
immediate response when I answer the phone I hang up...


This works. I do it all the time. As a result, I
actually listen to very few junk phone calls.
