That's not true! The police have only beaten me twice--once for race-mixing, and another time for thinking that the Mayor shouldn't run for higher office. Other than that, I've had no trouble.

He made a few noises supporting his cops, who have ultimately been disciplined. Crime is way down, and city services have improved, and gridlock is beyond his control, as far as I can see...

Melinda, with all due respect,I lived a good part of my life in California, the same as you, I have also lived in Queens, New York, and now in Florida. I suppose the point I'm trying to make is that, unless you have lived in a particular geographical area, it's difficult to know all of the problems and issues facing this area, no matter how well read you are. There are some things that the people, who live in New York for example, are going to know better than the rest of us simply because they are there and we're not. So in my mind, their opinion of what's going on in the place where they live, weighs much more than our opinion. I'm stating my own perspective. I mean no offense.
